Member Meetups are a valuable benefit to help Women in Print Alliance members build their professional contacts while leveling up their personal networking skills. These come-as-you-are, pay-as-you-go events bring together women working in different functions and in various segments of the printing industry to exchange ideas, create connections, and learn from one another in a social setting.

By participating in these hyper-local Member Meetups, you can:

  1. Reboot Your Network: A Yale University study found that “network shrinkage” since 2019 (due to the Covid-19 pandemic) was close to 16% and warned of its long-lasting effects. Basically, the survey concluded that our networks may possibly never bounce back unless we take proactive steps to rebuild them.
  2. Beat The Churn: Even in a non-pandemic world, our networks experience churn brought on by job changes, geographic moves, contacts leaving the workforce to focus on care-giving duties, and the like. Your industry “bestie” may very well not be in the industry at this time next year, and while you can’t replace that unique relationship, you can (and should) ensure you’re out there identifying and nurturing new ones.
  3. Sharpen Your Skills: Namely, your non-verbal communication skills. According to Female Founders, “Non-verbal communication is one of many tools that can help you make a good impression in interviews and in your professional life.” For those who don’t work in externally facing roles, there’s a risk of these skills becoming rusty. Practicing them in a supportive space like a Women in Print Alliance Member Meetup can help you stay proficient.

And, of course, these events help grow our dynamic community! Women in Print Alliance Member Meetups are designed for members to bring a “plus one” guest, which widens the circle of potential connections.

Women in Print Alliance Member Meetups are scheduled quarterly across the country and we hope to expand our location reach as we go. You can find the 2025 schedule here. If you’re not yet a member but want to be receive invitations to these events, apply to join Women in Print Alliance today.
