The annual Women in Print Alliance Networking Luncheon taking place on September 11 at PRINTING United Expo, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., is one you won’t want to miss. Keynote speaker Maureen Zappala, Impostor Syndrome expert and former NASA Propulsion Engineer, is set to speak on how leaders can get their best people to give their best effort.
“Imposter Syndrome” occurs when even your most brilliant team members may be doubting their own brilliance, and according to Zappala, it’s the single most significant obstacle preventing your best people – or yourself – from giving their best effort.
Zappala has experienced impostor syndrome firsthand during her time at NASA Lewis Research Center, based in Cleveland. “I loved my work at NASA. But with every project and promotion that same fear snuck in. “I don’t belong here. I’m not as smart as everyone thinks I am.””
She eventually left NASA and discovered her talent for captivating audiences with stories, research and inspiring ideas. But even this career change couldn’t keep those same “you’re not good enough” thoughts from creeping in. Because of this, Zappala says her first audience member was herself.
This networking event is expected to sell out, so guarantee your spot and help your teams and yourself overcome imposter syndrome (that you might not even realize you have!) by purchasing a ticket today!
