What have members loved most about being part of the Women in Print Alliance community this year? We asked; you answered.

Here, in your own words, is what meant the most to you during year one of our formal membership program:

Connecting.

“There’s something really special about being in a room (or in this case, on a rooftop) with women who just get it. Different backgrounds with various roles in the print world, but all coming together to share, support, and cheer each other on. I left feeling inspired, grateful, and reminded that sometimes the best part of these events isn’t what’s on the agenda. It’s who you meet along the way.” – Sarah B., Owner & CEO

“Absolutely loved the conversations and celebrations at last night’s Women in Print Alliance Member Meetup. I’m constantly inspired by our women in print community.” – Adrienne P., Owner

“Amazing connecting with old friends and making some new ones with our shared love of everything Print! Can’t wait to watch this group continue to grow.” – Ann C., Executive Director

Growing.

“This was a great webinar for women in leadership roles. [The speaker] teaches us how to put ourselves first and take some of the pressures off ourselves in the process. This webinar was sixty minutes very well spent.” – Tammy T., Director of Operations

“Yesterday’s seminar was nothing short of fabulous. I’ve been raving about it ever since. Thanks again for providing these opportunities! Excellent excellent!” – Rebecca C., Partner/VP

“This was a wonderful webinar. Loved the member participation.” – Linda S., In-Plant/State Printer

Inspiring.

“It was wonderful reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting so many inspiring women for the first time. Proud to be a part of this powerful community!” – Linda F., Owner

“I love meeting women in the same field of work as me! It’s empowering and uplifting.” – Jona S., Entrepreneur/Owner

Advocating.

“I had the pleasure of joining this year’s PRINTING United Alliance Legislative fly-in in Washington, DC. The activities started with a member meet up for Women in Print Alliance. We had a good dinner and enjoyed fellowship with other women in the industry. There were over 30 members of the printing industry that attended the fly-in to share their stories with senators and staffers to make a difference. What an amazing experience this week!” – Leslee B., Director, Graphic Center Operations

“I enjoy learning how the textile industry (I have worked in most of my adult life) and the print industry (I now work for a commercial print company) cross paths in the industry and in legislation.” – Lorianne B., Owner

“Wow. Just wow. I’ve done some super-cool stuff in my career, but this was just beyond. I was more than honored and humbled to have been invited to the PRINTING United Alliance Legislative Fly-In on Capitol Hill this week. Also had a great night out with some of the members of the Women in Print Alliance. More great change happening with us as we work for more recognition in what’s been a male-dominated industry.” – Marcia D., Editor/Industry Journalist

Another common thread we heard from our first-year members?

Optimism about the power to shift the “old school” narrative of the printing industry from a male-centered culture to one that recognizes inclusivity – while collaborating and promoting allyship with male leaders in the industry.
