We know there’s not exactly an “Easy Button” for working moms of print, but we’ve rounded up a list of five technology tools endorsed as “essential” by The Working Mom Conference.
It’s our annual gift to all of you Working Moms in Print! Here they are:
- Google Calendar. It’s a tried and true classic for a reason: it works, even for non-“techy” moms. With color-coding per family member, both parents and kids can stay on schedule for work, home, school events or extra-curricular activities. Best for: Moms in Print who like to keep it basic.
- Evernote. A lifesaver for list-makers, this tool can sync across devices and even scan attachments. If you’re constantly jotting (and misplacing) ideas or “to dos” on sticky notes, give this tech hack a try. Best for: Moms in Print who are always brainstorming.
- Noisli. Do you ever wish you could “drown it all out” for a bit? This tech tool delivers ambient sounds (think: rain forest or white noise) to rest your concentration or mood. Bonus: it can help calm down little ones or zonk them out for nap time. Best for: Moms in Print seeking a little more Zen.
- Pocket. This tech tool is like a virtual tote bag that can hold all of the podcasts, recipes, book reviews, industry trade press articles that you really want to sit down and read – eventually. Simply put it in your “Pocket” then intentionally block time to skim or deep dive into those resources. Best for: Moms in Print who are always in learning mode.
- Instacart. A tool for anyone – Mom or not – looking to trade in the routine tasks of grocery shopping, refilling pet supplies, or making Target runs for some extra quality time. And because we all have to eat. Best for: Moms in Print who are all in on outsourcing.
