Congratulations are in order for Chuqi Su, a graduate student in Print and Graphic Media Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), for earning top honors in a student competition at the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) 2024 Conference held recently in Dallas.

Chuqi was named winner of the prestigious Dusty Rhodes Graduate Student Paper Award for her authorship of a scholarly paper investigating the mechanical and performance properties of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) versus PTFE-free coatings on paper labels.

Joining Chuqi on the winner’s podium was RIT TAGA Student Chapter Advisor Professor Irma Abu-Jumah, a strong proponent of identifying and nurturing the next gen pipeline of female talent in the printing industry.

Congratulations, Chuqi, on a well-deserved prize, and thank you, Irma, for your continued efforts to educate women in print.
